Founded in 2000 by Jack and Andrea Kessel, Allied Petrochemical is an independent provider of distillation and sulfonation services to customers in various energy & industrial end markets. Based in Alvin, Texas, Allied provides fuel blend stocks and chemical additives derived from recycled and manufactured feedstocks. With over 20+ years of operating history, Allied has established a highly regarded industry reputation and long-standing customer and vendor relationships. Our Facility Our facility sits on 64 acres and includes truck and rail access, office and warehouse space, as well as a laboratory and control room. Distillation Services and Sulfonation Reactions are performed in separate, dedicated processing areas for operations efficiency and safety. Each processing area has direct access to rail (capacity for 23 cars) and truck loading/unloading for optimized logistics. Jay Bizarro President and CEO Jay joined Allied in 2024 and brings 37 years of experience in the specialty chemicals industry to the Company. With a BE degree in Chemical Engineering from Stevens Institute of Technology Jay joined International Specialty Products (later acquired by Ashland) and progressed through several roles in operations culminating in multi-site leadership. Jay also had significant business leadership responsibilities, leading ISP’s Elastomers business for 3 years. Most recently, Jay led Nylon Corporation of America (Manchester, NH) for 7 years as its President and CEO. Jay has three grown children, is an avid Formula 1 racing fan, and enjoys traveling with his family. Brian Johnson VP Operations Brian joined Allied in 2025 and brings 28 years of experience in the petrochemical and specialty chemical industries. After completing a BS in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University, he began his career with Exxon Chemical at the Baytown Olefins Plant, holding roles in engineering and refinery gas coordination. He later moved to International Specialty Products (acquired by Ashland), where he advanced through operations leadership, most recently serving as Site General Manager in Hopewell, Virginia. Brian is married with two grown children, is happy to be back in Texas, and enjoys golfing, hiking, and spending time outdoors with his family. Robin McClure VP of Sales & Business Development Robin joined Allied in 2025, bringing over three decades of leadership and entrepreneurial success across the global energy and specialty chemical sectors. With a proven record of transformational growth, he blends technical expertise with strategic commercial acumen. He holds an M.Sc. in Process Engineering and a B.Sc. in Applied Chemistry from the University of Strathclyde, plus a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration from Aberdeen University. Robin is active in the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Houston Chemical Association. His career includes senior leadership roles at Clariant International, Vinmar International, and Aquapharm PChem. Away from work, Robin enjoys rugby, coaching, refereeing, and time with his family and dogs. Norma Malcolm Controller Norma joined Allied in 2025, bringing over three decades of accounting expertise within the chemical industry. She qualified with the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants while living in the UK and began her career at International Specialty Products in Girvan, Scotland. Norma later joined ISP’s global internal audit team, gaining international exposure and extensive travel experience. In 2006, she relocated to ISP’s Texas City facility and continued through its acquisition by Ashland, developing broad expertise in financial operations. Beyond her professional career, Norma is an avid traveler who loves discovering new cultures and destinations. She especially enjoys returning to her homeland of Scotland, where her journey began.
